Yesterday we visited the proposed site for the 9/11 Memorial Sculpture at Mercer County Park. We discussed some details with our friends from the Ironworkers Local 68 of Trenton who will be assisting in the drilling of the beam for our u-bolt connections.
The site is coming along well as the foundations are being laid for the retaining walls and beam footing. Lots of rebar! Hope we can pick up some leftovers for some bowls.
The beam from the WTC site resting in a warehouse at MCP. We'll be attaching wire rope to the beam after it is set in place and doing our artsy wrap on top. Keep tuned for more as the project progresses.
